• John Lofgren outfits their vintage-inspired Monkey Boot in an extremely rare Hokkaido Ezo bear hide - a testament to the brand's patient and thoughtful design ethos. Since 2022, the brand has been slowly acquiring bear hides as they naturally passed away in the wild, ensuring ethical and respectful sourcing. The hide, coming from the brown bear that inhabits Japan's northernmost island, is distinctly pebbled with a tough surface and pliable texture. Given the material's wild origins, every boot is unique with subtle textural variation throughout. The leather is built into John Lofgren's Monkey Boot, a silhouette inspired by vintage American lace-to-toe line worker and roofer boots. Finished with contrast gold stitching, brass eyelets and a full Vibram 700 cork outsole.
